Please find information below on the wide range of courses that we offer. Courses can be taken in any combination. To qualify for Level 3 study you must have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, plus any specific entry requirements which you will find in the course detail. We reserve the right to make changes to the curriculum, if necessary.

Ancient History A Level

During your time studying Ancient History, you will focus on the ancient civilisations of Greece and Rome, looking at the key points of both, including the Greek-Persian conflict and the first Emperors of Rome after the fall of the Republic.

Applied Science BTEC Extended Certificate

Study the three sciences, from diseases and infections in Biology, to titrations and chromatography in Chemistry, and waves and circuits in Physics!

Art A Level

On the Art course, we start with the belief that we can all be artists. We are surrounded by constantly changing visual stimuli, learn to respond to and interpret this world through a range of artistic media and disciplines.

Biology A Level

Business A Level

A Level Business involves the study of real-life organisations and works well alongside many other A Levels, due to its varied content and range of transferable skills.

BTEC Business is a great opportunity to study actual businesses and be assessed via a combination of coursework and external assessments.

Business BTEC Diploma

If you want to specialise in Business, this course is ideal and covers a wide range of topics through coursework and examined units.

Chemistry A Level

Chemistry is the study of stuff. The molecules and compounds which make up us and the world around us. It is often referred to as the central science as it links together aspects of biology, physics and mathematics. Chemistry is an exciting and highly relevant subject. From developing new catalysts to helping to solve Global warming, the challenges are immense, but chemistry will arm you with the tools needed to face these challenges.

Computer Science A Level

Computer Science is becoming an increasingly important part of almost every part of our lives. Studying Computer Science will enable you to understand data and the machines and methods that manipulate it.

Dance BTEC Extended Certificate

This vocational qualification offers a practical approach, and you will be challenged to work to professional standards of creative collaboration. You will develop the knowledge and skills required to choreograph and perform solo and group dances through practical technique classes, observation, analysis and evaluation. Anatomy and physiology are linked with the dancer in action. You will be encouraged to find your own unique artistic voice as a dancer.

Design: Graphic Design and Communication A Level

Drama & Theatre A Level

Our ethos is really important to us; we are here as artists and practitioners, creators, thinkers and learners, here to encourage your development, understanding and appreciation of theatre and drama as powerful tools in the examination of human interaction, and to help you respond in a personal and creative way. We are a department of collaboration, creation and innovation and you will be involved in the lively artistic life of the College as a ClassAction practitioner. Everyone will always be encouraged to find their own unique artistic voice as a practitioner.

Economics A Level

Economics is a social science that studies how individuals, businesses, governments, and nations make choices about how to allocate resources.

English Language and Linguistics A Level

English Language and Linguistics at A level is different to English Language GCSE. It takes a close look at how the language works - how we acquire it as children, how it has developed and, crucially, how it is used, to change minds, to represent particular groups and to gain power and prestige.

English Language And Literature A Level

This course is about critical reading and discussion of literary and non-literary texts, including examples of spoken English, and offers the opportunity for creative writing, based on the work of writers you have studied.

Health & Social Care BTEC Extended Certificate

Study many different aspects of the Health and Social Care sector, from human development to roles, responsibilities and empowering service users. This is a great course for those interested in working in Health and Social Care.

History: Democracy & Dictators A Level

Studying History Democracy and Dictators, over the two years you will cover Russia from Tsars to communism, the Wars of the Roses and Germany before and after World War II, as well as completing an independent coursework question.

History: Revolutions & Rebellion A Level

Studying History Revolutions and Rebellions, over the two years you will cover American Civil Rights from the end of the Civil War to modern times, Britain from Churchill to Thatcher and the French Revolution & Napoleon, as well as completing an independent coursework question.

History of Art A Level

The A Level History of Art course offers an exciting opportunity to study the global stories of art and architecture from 500BC to today, investigating historical and political contexts as well as materials, techniques and styles.

IT BTEC Extended Certificate

If you like working with computers, enjoy solving problems and lots of hands-on practical work then this course is for you.

IT BTEC Diploma

This course is designed for students who are interested in a future within the Computing and IT industry and also want to learn the skills and techniques to express themselves creatively through technology. If you like working with computers, enjoy solving problems and lots of hands-on practical work then this course is for you. You will learn how to create websites, develop games, and database solutions. You will also develop practical skills in computer hardware and networking alongside the fundamentals of cybersecurity.

Law A Level

Law affects everything we do, it is difficult to identify an aspect of how we live that isn't impacted by Law. The course gives you the opportunity to find out how laws are made, what they are and how they impact our lives.

Music A Level

Music A level will allow you to develop as a performer and a composer of any style of music, whilst also giving you the skills you need to analyse existing pieces in depth.

Music Technology A Level

Music Technology A level provides you with the opportunity to produce recordings and compositions in our studios, as well as enhancing crucial listening skills.

Music Technology: Digital Music Production BTEC Extended Certificate

This course is suited to any student with an interest in the production, remixing, composition or mixing of music.

Performing Arts BTEC Extended Certificate

This course gives you an understanding of all aspects of Performing Arts, including acting and dance options, and combines it with the opportunity to focus on both performance and production support. Physics A Level

A Level Physics allows you to explore laws that underpin why everything in the universe – from Black Holes to Beta Particles.

Politics A Level

In the first year of global politics you look at the UK political system and how it functions, before going on to look at a range of core ideologies, finally finishing in the second year with a detailed look into either American or global politics.

Psychology A Level

As the science that deals with behaviour, emotions and mental processes; Psychology provides  a breadth of transferable academic skills, whilst delivering an engaging subject content, which enables students to gain a greater understanding of the causes of human behaviour.  

 

Sociology A Level

A Level Sociology will develop your ability to critically analyse the world around us and understand how and why social issues like inequality happen.

Spanish A level

The Spanish A level course focuses on learning the language through the understanding of aspects of society, culture and history in Spanish speaking countries.

Whatever your previous background in Maths, this course is designed to help you develop your understanding and skills. Your teacher will work with you to identify your own individual strengths and areas for development with the subject. We will spend a lot of lesson time on exam questions in order to best prepare you for the exams.
